The Museum ProjectThis project is in the first stages of investigating whether the Index of Care could be a useful instrument for museum staff engaged in areas of policy and practice involving human remains and, if so, whether modifications are required to make it more user-friendly and more 'fit for purpose'. We are asking you to help us by responding to the questions below. There is no obligation for you to answer every question posed, but we'd greatly value your thoughts on those questions which are relevant to your experience and/or your interests. All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence. At the end of the questionnaire we provide space for you to ask questions of us, and to indicate whether you would like to be kept informed of the project's progress and/or would be interested in becoming involved in the project. In order to reply we will obviously need your contact details; again, this information will be kept completely confidential. We have limited the number of questions in this form with the aim of making this a less onerous demand on your time, but please give us as much information as you can, either in the spaces left for text after each question, or in response to our final request for 'further comments'. Finally, as proponents of Indigenous rights, and recognising the need to return stewardship over their own history to Indigenous peoples, we are aware of the debate regarding museum practices and the display of human remains. We realise that this debate may shape the feedback we receive and, where this is the case, we are very interested in having your perspective on the arguments involved. |
